Meetings and public hearings scheduled

Iron Mountain Downtown Development Authority will have an events meeting at noon Tuesday and a business development meeting at noon Thursday, both at Contrast Coffee, 1202 Carpenter Ave., Iron Mountain.

Dickinson-Iron District Board of Health will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the health department office in Crystal Falls, 1374 Commercial Ave.

Florence County Board of Education will hold a finance meeting at 5 p.m. Wednesday in room 211 at Florence County High School. The agenda includes a preliminary 2026-27 budget review.

Breitung Township Zoning Board of Appeals will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the township hall in Quinnesec. There will be public hearings on three variance requests: Rebecca Perez and Mark Pilette, 1226 Lake Ave., Quinnesec, to allow seasonal occupancy and maintenance of livestock at the residence; Adam and Lacey Turner, W8660 Orchard St., to allow an accessory dwelling unit within the existing two-car garage; Michael R. and Julie Ann Phillips, W8475 Langsford Drive, to allow a 2-foot dimensional variance to exceed the 18-foot peak height for an accessory structure.
