ST. IGNACE -- An 18-year-old man has been arrested on an attempted murder charge after reportedly stabbing another teen Friday during what Michigan State Police called a "verbal altercation" in Mackinac County.
MSP from the St. Ignace Post were called to Moran Township for an 18-year-old male who had had been stabbed, according to a news release. The man was initially treated at Mackinac Straits Health System in St. Ignace before being transferred to McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey, MSP stated in the release. No information was provided on his condition.
The 18-year-old male suspect was lodged in the Mackinac County Jail. MSP did not release his name pending arraignment.
The investigation remains ongoing. Further details will be released when available, MSP stated. The MSP St. Ignace Post was assisted by the St. Ignace Police Department.
