Halloween-themed Harvest Festival set this weekend

HOMESTEAD, Wis. -- The second-annual Harvest Festival, a Halloween-themed family camping event, is planned for Friday through Sunday at West Bass Lake Park Campground in Homestead, Wis.
The Harvest Festival is organized by Jody Nordell, who attended similar events with her children at Van Riper State Park in Champion.
The event starts at dusk Friday with a kid-friendly movie in the pavilion.
Saturday will feature an all-day scavenger hunt. Forms are available in campsite site 1.
Face painting by D's Creative Faces will be done from noon to 4 p.m. at no cost. Children can also make crafts from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the pavilion.
From 3 to 4 p.m., the straw wagon ride leave from site 1. Children 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
Children dressed in their costumes will be trick or treating through the campground from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by a kickball tournament near the pavilion. Those who are camping at the park are encouraged to get into the holiday spirit and decorate their campsites.
During trick or treating, all campground roads will be closed -- absolutely no vehicles allowed in or out -- to ensure the children’s safety.
Attendees are encouraged to wear their costumes to the Monster Mash Dance from 8 to 9 p.m. in the pavilion.
Sunday, coffee and donuts will be available from 9 to 10 a.m. at site 1.
The event is open to the public, not just those staying in the campground.
