Youth Market Livestock Show to highlight fair’s first full day

NORWAY -- The animals are ready, the rides are spinning and the action is heating up -- today is Youth Day at the 2026 Dickinson County Fair in Norway.
Whether coming for the animals, the exhibits, the carnival rides, the music or simply a day of fun with family and friends -- Youth Day is the perfect time to head to the fair.
One of the biggest highlights of the fair's first full day gets underway this morning with the Youth Market Livestock Show.
Young exhibitors will take their market beef, swine, sheep and goats into the show ring beginning at 10 a.m.
Poultry and other entries not listed will begin judging at about 8:30 a.m., while dairy entries will continue arriving through noon.
The reward for all that effort will come during the Youth Livestock Auction, set for 3 p.m. Saturday. The entire community is encouraged to come out and support these young exhibitors by investing in their hard work, dedication and future.
Plenty more will be happening elsewhere around the fairgrounds all day long today.
Bingo will be going from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the red administration building, while the Skerbeck Carnival brings the thrills for all ages from 1 to 11 p.m.
The Exhibition Building will also be open from 1 to 10 p.m., giving fair-goers plenty of time to check out the exhibits.
Horse lovers won't want to miss the Draft Horse Show at 1:30 p.m., featuring an impressive variety of breeds and sizes.
Then at 3 p.m., the first dove release will take place near the poultry barn.
The grandstands will come alive from 6 to 11 p.m. with the popular variety band Next Myle taking the stage for the Diann Gendron Memorial Concert. The concert is free with regular gate admission, and everyone is welcome to enjoy the live music show.
The 2026 Dickinson County Fair features a full slate of activities each day before wrapping up at 5 p.m. Monday.
Fair gates open at 9 a.m. daily. Admission is $8 per day, with a weekly pass available for $25. Monday admission is just $2.
