IRON MOUNTAIN -- Horror fans can celebrate Halloween on Saturday with a double feature of classic thrillers when the Braumart Theatre in Iron Mountain hosts its third-annual Scare-a-Thon.

The event, presented by Kenneth James Salon, will feature "The Silence of the Lambs" (1991) and "A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors" (1987), bringing two well-known horror characters, Hannibal Lecter and Freddy Krueger, to the big screen for a night of frights and Halloween entertainment.

The event begins at 7 p.m., with tickets available at the door for $10. Moviegoers can attend one screening or stay for both films.

"This year, we're pairing two icons -- Hannibal and Freddy -- with a double feature that will terrify and make you laugh in equal measure," President of The Braumart Board of Directors Seth Anderson said. "Come for the thrills, grab that popcorn, and get ready for primetime."

The first film, "The Silence of the Lambs," follows FBI trainee Clarice Starling as she seeks the help of imprisoned serial killer and cannibal Hannibal Lecter to track down another murderer, known as Buffalo Bill, before he strikes again. The 1991 film earned the Academy Award for Best Picture, along with four other Oscars.

The second feature, "A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors," follows a group of young people confined to a psychiatric hospital who must confront supernatural killer Freddy Krueger in their dreams. With help from Nancy Thompson, a survivor of Krueger's earlier attacks, they work together to fight back against the dream-stalking villain.

In addition to the films, attendees will have the opportunity to win movie-related prizes.

Costumes are welcome, giving guests another way to join in the Halloween festivities.

Anderson encourages moviegoers to bring friends and enjoy the holiday at the historic Braumart Theatre, whether they come for a single film or settle in for the full double feature.

The Braumart extends its appreciation to Kenneth James Salon, whose sponsorship and support helps make the annual Halloween movie night possible.
