MARQUETTE COUNTY -- One man faces a felony assault charge after a stabbing and assault Friday evening in Marquette County that left two injured, one seriously.
Joshua Grenier, 36, was arraigned Monday in 96th District Court in Marquette on one count of assault with intent to murder. His bond was set at $100,000 cash/surety. His next hearing is scheduled for Oct. 15.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police Negaunee Post, along with other law enforcement agencies, were called just before 10 p.m. Eastern time Friday to a Chocolay Township residence, according to an MSP news release.
A 36-year-old man reportedly had stabbed a 32-year-old male with a knife during an altercation after allegedly assaulting a juvenile, according to the release. The stabbing victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition with serious injuries. The juvenile had minor injuries.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, according to MSP.
MSP was assisted by multiple agencies, including Keweenaw Bay Indian Community Tribal Police, Marquette Police Department, Marquette County Sheriff's Office, Chocolay Township Police Department and Marquette County Central Dispatch.
