Polio walk/climb event Saturday

1 min read

IRON MOUNTAIN -- The Rotary Club of Iron Mountain-Kingsford is inviting the public to take part in the first walk or climb in support of a polio-free world Saturday

Participants are asked to gather at 9:45 a.m. at the base of the Pine Mountain Ski Jump stairway. Both the 30-minutes 1 mile walk and the 500-step climb will begin at the same location at 10 a.m. Participants are invited to wear something red.

The local club is among hundreds in Zones 25b and 29 participating in the event. With their partners, Rotary has reduced polio cases by 99.9% since 1985, bringing them closer to fulfilling their promise of a polio-free world for children everywhere.

This event is open to the entire community, especially families and well-behaved dogs.

Non-member participants will be invited to attend a future Rotary Club meeting as their special guest at noon on Tuesdays at the Chippewa Club. Go to their website at rotaryimk.org or Facebook page for more information. To RSVP for the End Polio Walk/Climb or attend as a guest, text Brian Monroe at 414-881-6901.

Starting at /week.
