AURORA, Wis. -- Who's Next Bar in Aurora will host its third benefit for the Dickinson County Cancer Unit Loan Closet starting at about 2 p.m. Saturday.

Last year's benefit raised about $10,000 and owner Wendy DeClark is hoping for another great turnout.

DeClark herself is a cancer survivor. After being diagnosed last year with a slow-growing form of lung cancer, she knows how important the cancer loan closet is to the local area. They provide much needed equipment and support to cancer patients and are completely funded by donations.

"They provide so many great things. We're happy to raise money for them because of everything they do for the community," she said.

She is also very thankful to her staff, and friends for assisting her with organizing the event, from collecting donations and tickets to numbering baskets and containers for tickets to making food.

"I wouldn't be able to do this without their help," she said.

Many people have donated baskets and gift cards for the event and she is grateful for anything members of the community can provide.

"We have some awesome baskets that were donated and we're happy to receive any donation, basket or gift card that people are able to give us," she said.

The public is invited to sign up for raffle baskets this week if they can't attend the event Saturday.

In addition to numerous baskets and gift cards, there is also a "booze wagon," filled with different types of beer, liquor and chips, for $25 per ticket. It includes a collapsible wagon. Other larger ticket items are available as well.

The benefit will be held all day Saturday. They will choose the winning tickets for the baskets starting at noon Sunday. Food will be available during the events.

Anyone who would like to donate food, baskets or make a monetary donation can bring it to the bar or call the business at 715-589-4260.
