David J. Bolander

DAVID J. BOLANDER

KINGSFORD — David J. Bolander, 69, of Kingsford, passed away on Monday, Nov. 21, 2016 at his home.

David was born on Dec. 20, 1946 in Iron Mountain, son of the late Clarence and Frances (Lear) Bolander. He was a lifelong resident of this area and a 1965 graduate of Iron Mountain High School.

David married Ann Uren on Feb. 23, 1980, in Iron Mountain.

He was an over-the-road truck driver for many years. David spent 17 years transporting mail for the U.S. Postal Service, and later worked as an over-the-road driver for Gunville and Zeeb Trucking.

He was a former member of the Norway Moose Lodge and Oak Crest Golf Club. David enjoyed bowling, golf, playing cards, and most of all spending time with his family.

David is survived by his wife, Ann; daughter, Tina (Robert) Hayes of Negaunee; a brother, Mark (Luann) Bolander of Iron Mountain; a sister, Janice Vigo of Green Bay, Wis.; grandsons, Devyn (Alexandria) Walechka, Dylan and Tyler Mathews; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Marie Uren, Wayne and Linda Makela and Bill and Lita Bengtson; aunts, Clara, Evelyn, Faye and Maxine; and many nieces and nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by brothers and sisters-in-law, Carol and Don Schettler, Janet and Duane Lidbeck and Don Uren.

Visitation will be on Saturday, Nov. 26. from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Norway.

Celebration of life services will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Rev. James Danielson will officiate

Burial will be in the Quinnesec Cemetery.
