Mary Rose Lowman

KINGSFORD — Mary Rose (Paternoster) Lowman, 83, formerly of Kingsford, died on Dec. 26, 2016, at her home in Liberty, Mo.

She was born Jan. 30, 1931, in Iron Mountain, the daughter of Theresa (Pancheri) and Albert Paternoster, and graduated from Kingsford High School in 1951. After working in El Paso, Texas, she moved to Liberty, where she married E. E. “Pid” Lowman in 1954.

Survivors include her children: Marsha (John) Chastain, Tom Lowman (Diana Meyrand) and Terry Valero; a sister, Lauretta Christensen; four grandchildren: Louis Gilbert (Tracy), Frank Lowman Gilbert (Colleen), Kimberly Valero, Kyle Lowman Valero (Ali); four great-grandchildren: Rian, Race, Willow, and Ava; and many nieces and nephews, some of whom reside in this area.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her brothers: Tom Paternoster of Kingsford and Jim Paternoster of El Paso.

She retired after a bookkeeping career in the printing industry in Kansas City, Mo., and was a longtime active member of St. James Church in Liberty and a life member of Beta Sigma Phi service sorority.

Visitation and Mass of Christian Burial were held at St. James on Dec. 29.

Burial was private.
