Joyce E. Witynski

JOYCE WITYNSKI

FLORENCE, Wis. — Joyce E. Witynski, 89, of Florence, passed away Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, at Bellin Memorial Hospital, Green Bay, Wis.

She was born March 5, 1927, in Florence, daughter of the late Edward and Judith (Anderson) LeFleur. Joyce grew up in Florence and graduated Florence High School, class of 1944.

She married John Witynski in 1952 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Florence. He preceded her in death in 1983. Joyce worked at Witynski Hardware Store for a few years until she stayed at home to raise her children. She also worked at the Florence Villa Nursing Home as Ward Clerk for 12 years and finally took a position at the Florence County Wild Rivers Interpretive Center. Joyce was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Altar Society, as well as being a charter member of the VFW 3635 Auxiliary.

She enjoyed bowling, golfing, traveling with friends throughout the years, but most of all, she enjoyed the time she spent with her family and grandchildren.

Joyce will miss the friends she made most recently at Victorian Heights Assisted Living in Crystal Falls.

She is survived by three daughters, Jean (Steve) Bigalke, Florence, Judy (Mike) Witynski, Appleton, Wis., and Jennifer (Terry Steber) Witynski, Florence; one brother, Edward LeFleur; one daughter-in-law, Marjorie Witynski, Green Bay; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brother-in-law.

In addition to her parents and her husband John, Joyce was preceded in death by one son, Jim Witynski, and one great-grandson.

Visitation will be held Monday, Feb. 13, 2017, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home, Florence.

Prayers will be recited Tuesday, Feb. 14, at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Florence. Fr. Raymond Valerio will officiate.

Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in the spring.

A memorial will be established in Joyce’s name.
