He was born Jan. 14, 1938, in Iron Mountain to Luigi and Margaret (Formolo) Marchetti.

Lou was a graduate of Iron Mountain High School, class of 1956. Following graduation, he served his country in the United States Air Force from 1956-1960. On Dec. 15, 1956, Lou married Jean Zadra, his high school sweetheart and the love of his life.

Louis attended Northern Michigan University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in education. Following graduation, he and his family moved to Green Bay where he started his career at Green Bay West High School. He taught business, coached sports, was the school’s athletic director, and remained the athletic director even after retirement.

Lou and Jean wintered in Florida for many years following his retirement. His biggest joy and greatest accomplishments in life revolved around his family and faith.

We will forever remember our Sunday night dinners, his endless support and generosity for those around him, and his passion for making others happy. He will be remembered for his big heart, his kindness, and selflessness. He earned the love and respect of his students, colleagues, coaches, friends and neighbors.
