DE PERE, Wis. — Albert B. Maurina, 87, of De Pere, formerly of Iron Mountain, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2018, at Birch Creek Assisted Living in De Pere.

Albert was born Aug. 22, 1930, in Montreal, Wis., son of the late Albino and Gina (Cernoco) Maurina. He graduated from Montreal High School in 1948.

After high school Albert attended business school in Milwaukee before joining the U.S. Army. During his service time he was stationed in Alaska and in Sault Ste. Marie. Albert worked for the State of Michigan and as a carpenter for most of his career.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Maurina; three children, Tim (Dana) Maurina of Green Bay, Wis., Shelly Maurina of Lewisville, Texas, and Tod (Michele) Maurina of The Colony, Texas; four grandchildren, Jeremie Maurina of The Colony, Kyle Maurina, Paige Maurina and Jared Maurina, all of Green Bay.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 43 years and mother to his four children, Grace; a son, Steve “Barney;” and two sisters, Emma and Mary Jo.

Albert wished to not have a service for his passing. Instead, he wanted to be surrounded by his loved ones during a private burial.
