Gerald Oberthaler

He was born on Jan. 21, 1930, in Norway, the son of the late William and Rose (DeLaTorre) Oberthaler.

Gerald graduated from Norway High School in 1950.

He served his country as a Paratrooper in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

Gerald married Lorraine Sundalius on Sept. 28, 1957, at St. Marys Church in Norway.

He worked for Heil Company in Milwaukee, Norway-Vulcan Public Schools, Kimberly Clark in Norway and Northland Grocers as a truck driver until his retirement in 1990.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, snowmobiling, going to camp, hunting and fishing.

Gerald is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lorraine; sons, Dan (Sandy) Oberthaler of Kingsford, Jeff (Mary) Oberthaler of Iron Mountain and Bill Oberthaler of Norway; grandchildren, Jenna, Katie and Emily; sister, Loryce (Arden) Broden of Waucedah Township; several nieces and nephews.

Family will greet friends 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, April 30 at St. Marys Church in Norway.

A Memorial Mass will follow at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with Fr. Binu Joseph officiating.

Interment will be held at the Norway Township Cemetery.
