Marianna C. Schmidt

She was born in Germany on Dec. 7, 1920; daughter of Josif and Rozalia Leptich. She came over to America at the age of 3 on a ship called President Roosevelt.

She had a love of country, her church and her Heavenly Father.

Marie made friends wherever she went. She was a feisty and very independent woman for her time. She enjoyed taking care of her flower beds along with walking her dogs, going out to eat, especially for breakfast and feeding the stray cats.

Marie had a few residents in the Dunbar area that were her special friends and helped her out.

She is survived by a few close neighbors: Zibby DP, Dave (Diana) Schultz, Darcy (Gary) Powell, and Dave (Janice) Reed.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Anton “Tony.”

Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 19, at Dunbar Community Bible Church. Pastor David Coats will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Dunbar, at a later date.
