Maxine Borga Harden

She was born in Marquette on March 28, 1931, to Alford and Jane Smith. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on July 21, 1953, in New York City.

Maxine married Emmitt (Joe) Borga on Aug. 21, 1949, and they served Jehovah faithfully until Joe’s death in August 2000.

She married Malcolm Harden in Jan. 15, 2003, and they were married until Malcolm’s death in July 2008.

During her life, Maxine was a successful real estate broker and insurance agent. She was alo an EMT and surgical nurse for 30 years, but her primary focus was on sharing her love of Jehovah God with all who had a hearing ear.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Ann Hayward; son, Ron Borga; grandsons, Eric Borga and Chandler Borga.

She is survived by her sons, David (Cheryl) Borga, Steven (Gwen) Borga; grandchildren, Nicole, Brandon, Trixie, Steven Jr., Kelly, Caitlyn and Jessica; as well as numerous great-grandchildren.

The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses: 470 Old Polk City Rd, Lakeland, FL.
