KINGSFORD — Robert C. “Bob” Dubnick, 82, of Kingsford, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2018, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.

Robert was born on April 23, 1936, in Wauwatosa, Wis., son of the late Florian and Goldie (Shearman) Dubnick. He married Marlene Buck on Aug. 28, 1954, and two months later enlisted in the United States Army. He served his country during the Korean War, enlisting on Oct. 8, 1954, and being honorably discharged Sept. 15, 1956.

Upon returning home, Robert worked for Salentines Auto Body in Hales Corner, Wis., and served as a Lieutenant EMT and Volunteer Fireman for the City of Hales Corners. He then moved to Iron Mountain and opened Bob’s Auto Body, where he worked as a self-employed body man until retiring in 1998.

Robert was an avid fisherman. He loved woodworking, gardening and telling stories about his life.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of nearly 64 years, Marlene Dubnick of Kingsford; his daughter, Patricia (Don) Jacob of Kingsford; eight grandchildren, Tammy (Andy) Wickman, Jason Mullikin, Eric (Becky) Mullikin, Tabitha (Mike) Stanchina, Tracy Whittkopf (Dan Weber), Mark Mullikin, Ian (Cassie) Hopkins and Kyle (Amber) Hopkins; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild on the way; and one sister, Florence (Don) Weber of La Crosse, Wis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Florian Sr. and Goldie Dubnick; daughter, Sharon R. Mullikin-Hopkins; brother, Florian Dubnick Jr.; sister, Helen Keane; and a grandson, David Whittkopf.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Aug. 9 at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.

At Robert’s request there will be no service.
