CRYSTAL FALLS — Karen Scheffler, 64, of Crystal Falls, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, at ManorCare Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Kingsford.

She was born Dec. 12, 1954, in Crystal Falls, to Chester and Doris (Anderson) Broswavic. Karen was a longtime waitress at various local restaurants, including Bev’s Supper Club in Crystal Falls, where she had a special fondness for her regular customers.

She was of the Lutheran faith and enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time fishing in Eagle River, Wis. She especially loved her five grandkids and her family.

She is survived by her son, Ben Scheffler; daughter, Tina Anderson (Patrick Wagner); longtime boyfriend, Gene Lantagne; brothers, Gerry (Marcia) Broswavic and Jim LaBombarb; sister, Jane Romans; grandchildren, Dylan, Riley, Bella, Kendal and Brady; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Lloyd LaBombarb.

Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12 at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.

A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Pastor Doug Johnson will officiate.
