Stephen Ackerman

Stephen was born in Iron Mountain on April 12, 1947. He was the son of Ronald and Pauline (Alleva) Ackerman.

He was a lifelong resident of this area and attended Breitung Township Schools, graduating with the Class of 1966 at Kingsford High School. Steve worked at United Abrasive for 41 years, from 1967 to 2008.

Stephen is survived by two brothers, Albert (Rita) Ackerman of Texas and Donald (Virginia) Ackerman of Wyoming; a sister, Pauline Bolan of Las Vegas; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Stephen was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald and Nick Ackerman; and three sisters, Betty Massa, Antoinette Brault and Yvonne Sauld.

Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 23 at Iron Mountain Cemetery Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his memory.
