Anita Kreeger

IRON MOUNTAIN — Anita Marie Kreeger, 82, passed away on July 23, 2019. She was born in Iron Mountain, the daughter of the late Anton and Rose (Carollo) Lorenzi.

Anita truly loved her family. Her life was a living example of being kind to everyone you meet. It was only fitting that she was a nurse by profession.

She told happy stories of her day’s ice skating in Iron Mountain, and making pizzelle with her mom and sisters, handing the tradition down to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time in gardens, parks and beaches. Anita loved to travel, especially to Hawaii, and most recently to meet relatives back home in Italy.

Anita married Albert Kreeger on May 12, 1962, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include her two sons, Kevin (significant other, Debbie) Kreeger of Madison, Wis., Tim (Ann) Kreeger of Madison; two daughters, Amy (Dennis) Hodkiewicz of Pulaski, Wis., Jeanne Kreeger of Portland, Ore.; a son-in-law, Alan Roemer of Wild Rose, Wis.; six grandchildren, Kevin (Valerie) Roemer, Nathan (Cassie) Roemer, Brent Roemer, Eric Hodkiewicz, Emily Hodkiewicz and Carly Kreeger; and great-granddaughters, Haylee Roemer, Hayzel Roemer and Lena Roemer, all of whom she loved dearly.

She is further survived by two brothers and their wives, Martin and Mary Lorenzi, Tony and Betty Lorenzi; siblings-in-law, Rosie Lorenzi, Jim and Lois Kreeger, Carol Ann Trinrud; and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

This wonderful, caring, and loving woman will leave a permanent mark on our hearts and will be missed by those of us she left behind.

She can now rejoice in Heaven with those who preceded her in death: her daughter, Katherine “Katrina” Roemer; a sister, Marian Oswald; and brother, Louie Lorenzi; a niece, Roseanne; brothers-in-law, Joe Oswald, Phil Trinrud and John Kreeger; and sister-in-law, Mary Kreeger.

Funeral Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Iron Mountain.

The family will receive relatives and friends in the gardens of the church preceding the Mass.

Memorials may be made in Anita’s name to the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.
