Charmaine Elaine (Schultz) Kraemer

Charmaine Elaine (Schultz) Kraemer

NIAGARA, Wis. — Charmaine Elaine (Schultz) Kraemer joined her husband Bill, on her greatest adventure for eternity on Monday, June 17, 2019. She passed peacefully at Mayhill Manor in Niagara due to complications from vascular dementia.

In addition to her husband Bill, she joins her parents, Carl Otto Schultz and Lorena Lorenzen Schultz, special uncle Howard Brill and aunt Myra Brill, and many friends and family members.

An only child, Charmaine (Mainey) was born Dec. 27, 1933, at her family home in Appleton, Wis. At the age of nine, she moved to Pembine, Wis., a place dear to her heart. For the first few years of her education, she attended a one-room schoolhouse in the country. She graduated from Pembine Schools in 1952.

At an early age, Charmaine always knew she would be a teacher, teaching school to her ‘students’ of dolls and stuffed bears. Always determined to achieve her goal, she received her teaching certificate from Marinette County Normal (teachers college). She began her teaching career in Goodman Public Schools where she met her future husband, Bill. They were married June 1, 1956.

She was a Reading Specialist at Beecher-Dunbar-Pembine Schools from 1964 until her retirement in 1992. Each day she would make the journey along the back roads from Niagara to Pembine. Always wanting to further her knowledge, she returned to college and earned her bachelor’s degree in Education from Northern Michigan University in 1974.

Charmaine cared deeply for her students, but nothing meant more to her than family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend to everyone (even if you weren’t related by blood). She was always ready to raise a glass and cheer on her beloved Green Bay Packers. Other passions included growing flowers, painting, bowling, reading and traveling. Some of her favorite places to travel were the Southwest, cruising to Alaska, the mountains ‘out west,’ plus Europe and Canada.

Charmaine (Schultzie) is survived by her children, Bill (Deb), Kraemer of Kaukauna, Wis.; Carol Johnson of Cumming, Ga.; Sandy (Mike) Keeker of Gladstone; and Linda (Joe) Orcelletto of Bend, Ore; grandchildren, Chris (Becky) Kraemer, Erik Kraemer, Ashley (Mitch) Herber, Lindsey Johnson, Kyra Keeker and Mike Keeker.

She is also survived by her brother-in-law, George (Marjorie) Kraemer; sister-in-law, Doris Kraemer; various nieces and nephews; and cousins, Jim (Sharon) Eggert, Tom (Laura) Eggert, Barb (Dave) Dahlke, and Shirley (Bill) Rogers.

The Kraemer family wishes to thank the caregivers at Maryhill Manor who gave her the best care possible for the last five years.

Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home, 901 Carpenter Ave, in Iron Mountain, has been entrusted with the arrangements.

A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 27. The service will be at 2 p.m., with light snacks to follow.
