IRON MOUNTAIN — Kay L. Meyer, 55, of Fence, Wis., passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2019, unexpectedly, with her family by her side, at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay, Wis.

She was born on April 24, 1964, in Iron Mountain the daughter of the late Kenneth and Carol (Olson) Powell of Goodman, Wis.

Kay graduated from Goodman-Armstrong High School, Class of 1982. She attended the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in forestry. Kay also went on to attend Nicolet College in Rhinelander, Wis., and obtained a degree specializing in computers.

She married Glen Meyer on May 11, 1991, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church in Armstrong Creek. Together they moved to Fence, where she was a member of both the Catholic Church in Armstrong Creek and St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iron Mountain.

Kay worked for the Goodman Veneer Mill, Goodman Bank, Khoury’s Unfinished Furniture for 16 years and has been working at Systems Control in Iron Mountain, for the past 10 years. While working at Systems, she became friends with many colleagues all over the country.

She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Glen; two sons, Grant and Cole Meyer of Fence; one brother, Bruce (Sharon) Powell of Bradley, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 20, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church in Armstrong Creek.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon Saturday, July 20 at the church.

Rev. Fr. Tim Brandt will officiate.

Burial will be in Glenview Cemetery, Goodman, Wis.

A memorial will be established in Kay’s memory.
