PHYLLIS FOSTER

NIAGARA, Wis. — Phyllis A. Foster, age 93, of Niagara, Wis., passed away Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Maryhill Manor Nursing Home in Niagara, Wis.

She was born May 8, 1926, in Norway, Mich., daughter of the late Enfred and Muriel (Trethewey) Anderson. Phyllis graduated from Norway High School and then went on to attend Albion College where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in biology and chemistry.

After her husband Edward was honorably discharged from service they married in Norway, Mich. They resided in Detroit, Mich. for a short time before moving back to Norway. Phyllis worked at Anderson Memorial Hospital, Norway, as a lab tech from 1967 until she retired in the late ’80s.

Phyllis enjoyed knitting, sewing, basket weaving, making miniature doll houses and figurines, gardening, swimming and was an all-around creative person. She’ll be fondly remembered for her generosity, kindness and spirited humor. She will be missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include one daughter, Sara (Carl Swanson) Foster, Niagara; three grandchildren, Brittany (Rich), Foster (Jessalyn), and Erin (Brian); and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Edward, Phyllis was preceded in death by one son, Gary Foster; one daughter, Suzy Lake Radford; two brothers, William and Jack Anderson; and one sister, Edythe Jamieson.

A celebration of Phyllis’ life will be held Saturday, July 20, 2019, from 10 until 11 a.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home-Niagara Chapel, Niagara, Wis. Burial will take place in Dickinson County Memorial Gardens, Iron Mountain.
