IRON RIVER — Robert Charles (Charlie) Petroff, 61, passed away July 14, 2019, at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau, Wis.

Charlie was born July 14, 1958, in Iron River, to George and Norma Petroff.

He attended West Iron County High School until he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served honorably for six years.

Charlie loved the outdoors and his passion in life was fishing. He was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers.

Charlie is survived by his brothers, George (Gail) Petroff of Coon Rapids, Minn., Patrick Petroff of Caledonia, Mich.; one sister, Mary (Jack) Cerasoli of Neenah, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Norma.

John J. Buettgen Funeral Home in Wausau is assisting the family with services.

A graveside memorial for Charlie will be arranged at a later date.
