DONALD BERGERON

IRON MOUNTAIN – Donald D. Bergeron, died May 10, 2019, age 95, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Oct. 16, 1923, in Cloquet, Minnesota, to Frank and Sarah Bergeron. Donald was raised in Kingsford, and graduated from Kingsford High School in 1941. He graduated from the University of Michigan Dental School in 1952, specializing in orthodontics. Donald was an instructor at the University of Detroit Dental School in the 1950’s.

He served in the United States Army during World War II in the United States and the Philippine Islands as a 1st Lieutenant in the US Army Dental Corp Reserve. Dr. Bergeron practiced orthodontics in Pontiac and Waterford, Michigan, from 1952-1991. After retirement he resided in Estero, Florida, beginning in 1993.

Donald was a member of many organization including: American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, Great Lakes Association of Orthodontists, Michigan Dental Association, Oakland County Dental Association-past president, Orchard Lake Country Club and Wildcat Run Country Club in Estero Florida, Rotary Club Pontiac-past president.

Beloved husband of the late Barbara. Loving father of Jeffrey D. Bergeron (Stephanie W.), Mary Beth Bergeron (Victor Banister), Patricia A. (the late David Livingston), and Shannon K. Bergeron (Robert Snapp). Dear grandfather of Michael, Kathryn, and Gracie.

Graveside service will be held Saturday, Aug. 17, 2019, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Cemetery, Florence, Wis.
