FLORENCE, Wis. — Julie A. Meyers, 54, of Green Bay, Wis., passed away Sunday, Aug. 18, 2019, at St. Mary Hospital in Green Bay.

She was born Dec. 31, 1964, in Iron Mountain, daughter of Richard “Dick” and Nora (Witynski) Meyers.

Julie graduated from Florence High School, Class of 1983. She went on to attend both Fox Valley Technical College and Wausau Technical College to study nursing. Julie worked as a certified nursing assistant for the Florence Nursing Home, as well as several nursing homes in Green Bay, and for a short time for Maryhill Manor in Niagara, Wis. During this time, she resided in both Florence and Green Bay, along with her longtime companion, John Alexander.

Julie enjoyed traveling, swimming, eating tomatoes and cucumbers out of her parent’s garden, but most of all she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her parents, Dick and Nora Meyers of Florence; longtime companion, John Alexander and his children, John Jr. (Becky Rocque) Alexander and Devon Alexander, all of Green Bay; one brother, Robert (Janna) Meyers of Arizona, and his two children, Jacob and Hayden; two sisters, Michelle Valeski of Quinnesec, her two children, Andrew (Claire) Valeski and Aimee (John) Peters, and Patricia (Todd) Moreaux of Florence; three grandchildren, Liejah, Emma and K’Von; special friends, Cindy Burzinski and her daughter, LaVonna Rocque, both of Green Bay; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Julie was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Ted Valeski.

Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Florence.

A Memorial Mass will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the church. Rev. Fr. Timothy Brandt will officiate.

Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Commonwealth, Wis.
