Sue Anne Erickson

She was born Nov. 27, 1948, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Ewald “Sparky” and Anne (Hiltonen) Olson. Sue graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1966. She married Robert K. Erickson on March 16, 1968.

Sue had last worked as an administrative assistant at the 3M Corporation, retiring in 2013 after 23 years. Her first job was with the Dickinson County Courthouse. She enjoyed working with the young and served as a Bible school teacher, worked for the school system in Zionsville, Ind., and at the University of Dayton.

She lived in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Florida and Minnesota. She was well traveled and even went to Finland and Sweden. She especially loved traveling throughout Michigan with her family. She was an avid bargain hunter and was always looking for the perfect gift for a loved one.

Sue is survived by her husband, Robert; one son, Lee Erickson of South Saint Paul, Minn.; one daughter, Jayna Erickson of Rochester; and one sister, Jayce Dale.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jean Olson; and brother, Alvin Olson.

She was well loved by all she knew due to her warmth and kindness. She was affectionately called Susie by those close to her. She will be missed most by her loving husband, who called her Sugar Bear.

Friends may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 9 at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Norway.

Memorial services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church. Rev. James Danielson will officiate.
