William F. Cody

AURORA, Wis. — William F. Cody, 56, of Aurora, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at his home, after a lengthy battle with ALS.

Bill was born on June 22, 1963, in Livonia. The family moved to this area in December 1977 and Bill graduated from Kingsford High School in 1981.

He married Lisa Vigo on June 15, 1991, at Immaculate Conception Church in Iron Mountain.

Bill rolled his first bowling ball at age 3, beginning his lifelong passion for the sport, and eventually received his PBA card.

He was an avid fan of the Detroit Lions and Tigers, and very rarely seen without his fan attire. Bill was passionate about music and radio broadcasting.

He was an avid collector of Casey Kasem’s American Top 40, which led to an in-home radio station where the neighborhood kids would call in their requests.

Bill was a family man who enjoyed building projects around the home and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

Bill was the entrepreneur and partner of multiple businesses that included Cody’s DJ Express, Pro-shine Auto-detailing, The Round Table Coffee House and Fantisique Designs.

Bill had a strong faith and a close relationship with our father God and was ready to go home to heaven.

He was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa; children, Kristina (Michael Collins) Cody of Niagara, Wis., Stephanie Cody of Green Bay, Wis., and David Cody of Kingsford; grandchildren, Faith, Avery, Brennan and Leland, Jayden and Kaylianna; his mother, Carolyn Cody of Breitung Township; brother, Daniel Cody of Breitung Township; mother and father-in-law, Ann and Ed Stedman of Norway; stepmother-in-law, Janice Vigo of Black Creek, Wis.; sisters-in-law, Tina (Dan) Moyer of Quinnesec, Julee (Bill) Beyer of Green Bay, and Amanda (Harlan Ross) Vigo of Clarksville, Tenn.; many nieces and nephews; and by his best buddy and faithful companion, his dog Mikey

Bill was preceded in death by his father Delbert Cody; and his father-in-law, Marvin Vigo Jr.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 at Maranatha Assembly of God Church in Kingsford. Memorial services will follow at 3 p.m. at the church. Rev. David Wilton will officiate.
