Loren R. Olson

He was born on Aug. 3, 1949, in Stambaugh, the son of the late Clarence and Doris (Lee) Olson.

He attended Stambaugh Schools and graduated with the Class of 1968. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1972.

Loren married Nancy Butorac on Aug. 31, 1975, at St Cecilia Catholic Church in Caspian. The couple celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary in 2019.

He was employed at West Iron County Schools for 30 years as a jack of all trades. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on his guns.

Loren is survived by his wife, Nancy; son, Jason (Melissa) Olson of Iron River; daughter, Angie (Scott Douglas) Olson of Iron River; four grandchildren, LeRoy, Chaselynn, Ellianna, and Rayne Olson; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He was also preceded in death by his infant son, John; brother, Wayne Olson; sister, Sharon Johnson and infant sister, Judith Olson.

A Celebration of Life will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1 at the Beechwood Hall.

Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery.
