Lorraine Wimberly

She was born on July 15, 1924 in Chicago, the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Miller) Erzig. Lorraine graduated from St. Alphonsus High School in Chicago in 1940.

She married Arthur Lee Wimberly on Dec. 11, 1948 in St. Thomas of Canterbury Church in Chicago. He preceded her in death on April 16, 2002.

Lorraine had a compassionate heart, very strong value system and a great sense of humor, a real people person. She loved life and was very supportive of her family.

Lorraine enjoyed working on jigsaw and crossword puzzles, loved music, playing cards and helping people. She like to learn new things, even learned how to drive in her older age.

Lorraine is survived by her children, Ann (Ed) Stedman of Norway, Cathy (Jeff) Camp of Carol Stream, Ill., Tom (Jana) Wimberly of Streator, Ill., Joe (Debbie) Wimberly of Lombard, Ill., Dave Wimberly of Freeport, Ill. and Tim Wimberly of Brown Deer, Wis.; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Marion Laskey.

A memorial Mass will be held at a later date at St. Mary Catholic Church in Norway.

Interment will follow at the Norway Township Cemetery.
