Doris Schuirmann

Doris was born in Fence, on Sept. 25, 1931, daughter of the late Edward and Katherine (Moller) Thomas.

Doris was a loving mother and grandmother who loved babysitting her grandchildren. She was a hard worker and enjoyed gardening, watching and feeding birds, camping with friends, country music and trips to the casino. She loved to cook and bake for everyone.

She is survived by her seven children, Steve (Sally) Schuirmann of Munising, Vickie (Guy) Forstrom of Quinnesec, Vonnie Nessinger (Rick) of Kingsford, Denise (Ron) Michaud of Felch, Charlene (Ed) Swenski of Iron River, Sherri (Donald) McBride of Quinnesec and Mary (Gary) Stamper of Quinnesec; a son-in-law, LeRoy “Paco” Barribeau of Quinnesec; two brothers, Patrick Thomas of Armstrong Creek and Walter (Doris) Thomas of Norway; a sister, Verna Moddie of Armstrong Creek; 29 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Doris was preceded in death by a son, David Schuirmann; a daughter, Donna Barribeau; one brother; and four sisters.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 27 at Quinnesec Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at the American Legion on River Ave at 2 p.m.
