Joseph P. Gunville

KINGSFORD — Joseph P. Gunville, 62, of Kingsford, passed away Monday, June 1, 2020, at U.P. Healthcare System, Marquette, Mich.

He was born March 31, 1958, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Donald And Margaret (Baumler) Gunville. Joseph grew up in Niagara, Wis. and was a graduate of Niagara High School, class of 1976.

He worked for the Niagara Paper Mill for over 20 years.

Joseph played Babe Ruth Hardball, and was in the men’s softball league in Niagara, enjoyed playing golf with his friends at Oak Crest and could often be found at Doug’s Hilltop.

He enjoyed watching football, basketball, baseball and NASCAR, especially the Green Bay Packers, the Wisconsin Badgers, the Detroit Tigers and the Milwaukee Bucks.

Most of all Joseph enjoyed spending time and talking with his family and friends.

He always had a smile, a joyful disposition and was always available to listen with a caring ear.

Survivors include two brothers, Mark (Laurie) Gunville of Niagara, Wis., and Mike Gunville of Green Bay, Wis.; one sister, Donna Gunville of Niagara; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Friday, June 5, 2020, at 11 a.m. at the Niagara Cemetery in Niagara, Wis. Rev. Fr. Michael Lightner will officiate.
