Virginia Robertson
NORWAY — Virginia Robertson, 95, of Norway, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at her home surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Virginia was born Feb. 20, 1925, in Alma, daughter of the late Stephen and Mary (Bonigot) Smiley. She graduated from Northwestern High School in Detroit. Virginia married Jack Robertson on April 15, 1944 in Hayward, Calif. and they moved to the Norway/Vulcan area in the late 1950s. Jack preceded her in death on May 6, 2000. Virginia enjoyed crafts, sewing, ceramics and camping. She and Jack loved traveling in their retirement, visiting relatives across the country. Virginia was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who cherished time spent with family, especially her grandchildren.
Virginia is survived by her children, David Robertson (Kate) of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Sue Shuler (Harvey) of Oneida, Wis., Jennifer Cornell (Larry) of Neenah, Wis., Jon Robertson (Mary) of Jackson, Mich., Laura Johnson (Craig) of Cary, NC, Timothy Robertson of Norway, and Becky Kleikamp (Terry) of Norway; grandchildren, Sarah Robertson, Jeromie Robertson, Tina Christian (Clarence) Wendy Knudsen (Jon), Crystal McCarthy (Tony), Leslie Svacina (Scott), Paula Shuler (Trevor Elg), Alissa Cornell, Kristel Cornell (Brian Williamson), Kelly Robertson, Olivia Kotcher, Clay Robertson, Christopher and Natalie Johnson, Ashley, James, Lucas, Chelsea and Michael Robertson, Amanda Grunlund (Tyler), Nick Kleikamp; great grandchildren, Alyssa and Jacob Bell, Brayden and Emily Robertson, Audrey Kotcher, Cody and Cadence Scavina and Addison Grunlund.
In addition to her parents and husband, Virginia was preceded in death by her sons, Steven Robertson and Gregory Robertson; grandchildren, Britney Kleikamp and Michael Kleikamp; and one brother and three sisters.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.
A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Norway Township Cemetery.
