Gail Zanon

NORWAY — Gail Lucille Zanon, 82, of Norway, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 2020, at Freeman’s Nursing Home in Kingsford.

She was born on March 18, 1938, in Norway, the daughter of the late Clyde and Lucille (Perin) Banfield.

Gail graduated from Norway High School in 1956. She married Charles Zanon on Dec. 28, 1957, in St. Barbara Catholic Church in Vulcan.

Gail worked at Asselin Creamery for a few years, but spent over 30 years making cakes for special occasions.

She was a volunteer and a board member of Holy Spirit School for over 25 years, a member of the Red Hats society, enjoyed making ceramics and watching her children and grandchildren in all their sporting or school events.

Gail is survived by her husband of 62 years, Chuck; sons, John (Debbie) Zanon, Dan (Kathy) Zanon and Michael Zanon, all of Norway; daughter, Amy (Clint) Chartier of Norway; grandchildren, Lacey (Scott) Zanon of Vulcan, Chaz Zanon of Knoxville, Tenn., Carson and Chloe Chartier of Norway; great-grandchildren, Emma Bauer and Eli Hudson; sister, Nancy (Luke) LeBeoff of Appleton, Wis.; brother-in-law, George (Kathy) Zanon of Norway; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Zanon; and one infant brother.

Family will greet friends on Friday, Aug. 7 from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Norway.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11 a.m. at the church with Fr. Timothy Ekaitis officiating.
