FLORENCE, Wis. — Ruth B. Callow, 92, of Florence, Wis., passed away Monday, Aug. 10, 2020, at Florence Health Services in Florence, Wis.
She was born Aug. 20, 1927, in Elmhurst, Ill., daughter of the late Ernest and Erna (Jurgens) Lorenz. Ruth grew up in Elmhurst and graduated from York Community High School in Elmhurst. She was united in marriage to James J. Callow on Oct. 22, 1949. He preceded her in death on March 11, 2005.
Ruth worked many years in the cafeteria at Florence High School.
She enjoyed cooking, gardening and was an active member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Florence.
Survivors include one son, Rick (Marcia Driscoll) Callow of Highlands Ranch, Colo; one daughter, Donna (Tim) Grossmann of Florence, Wis.; one grandson, Matt Grossmann of Florence, Wis.; three great-grandchildren, Vicky, Elizabeth and Mark Jr.
In addition to her parents and husband, James, Ruth was preceded in death by one grandson, Mark Grossmann.
Graveside services will be held Friday, Aug. 14, at 11 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery in Florence, Wis. Rev. Jason Liebenow will officiate.
