Jason Lee Bettiga

Jas Bettiga finished his journey on planet Earth on Sept. 15, 2020, and moved on to his next adventure.

Born July 21, 1967 in Iron Mountain, he left this world surrounded by his very loving and dysfunctional family and friends while listening to Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb.”

Jas was a welder/fabricator by trade, working for various local businesses. He owned and operated JB Enterprises.

He loved to camp, hike and fish through the mountains of California with his parents and brother, Josh, while living in San Diego County. He enjoyed camping and exploring in the deserts of the Southwest, especially Moab, Utah. He relocated back to the U.P. and loved all the outdoor experiences it had to offer. Jas was an avid Packer fan.

He leaves behind his parents, Gretchen Unrein and Terry (Tina) Unrein; his loving lady, Tammy Pease and daughters, Skylar and Sabrina; his sons, Seth Unrein, Kota and Tanner Bettiga; brothers, Josh Unrein (Misty Nicols), Jed Unrein (Sabrina Butterfield); sister, Carly Zollinger; his niece, Takarra Unrein (Jon Martin) and their son, ‘Lil Dude (Zayden); nephews, Harley and Darian Unrein. He also leaves behind his Pals, Jimmy Gaskins, Tim Skowronski, Ronnie Hesse, Neil Pedrys and Marvin “The Martian” Perdue.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harry and Kathryn Bottger, Jack and Mary Bettiga, and Margaret Tanner; and his mother’s lifelong companion, Terry Faull.

A private celebration of a well-lived life will be held.
