John Macario Jr.

He was born April 16, 1972, in Ishpeming, the son of John Sr. and Dawn Macario. John proudly served his country in the United States Air Force where he was stationed in Germany.

After the service, he worked as a contractor. He was a devoted Green Bay Packers fan. He enjoyed playing and watching golf. He especially enjoyed his food and being a food critic. He was a loving husband, father and Poppop who will be dearly missed.

John is survived by his wife, Nina; children, Jared (Emily) Macario, Heath (Allison) Houston and Tessa (Hailin) Zhu; father, John Sr. (Kathy) Macario; sister, Jodi (Chris) Skoglund; brother, Ryan (Netti) Macario; step-sister Kristy (Jim) Bell; step-brother, Nick DAmbrosio; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; extended children, Russell (Julia) Taylor, Jacoby Taylor (Lindsey) Duebber, Austin Womack, Angel Landreth and Ryan Pettit; five grandchildren, Matthias, Mackenzie, Oliver, Alexandra and Xander; and beloved friends, Jason (Amy) Wilson and Joe Case.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Dawn Macario; and grandparents, Joseph (Aune) Macario and Jim (Betty) Hansen.

Visitation was Sept. 29, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions – Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. A celebration of life followed.
