Sharon G. Moratti

She was born July 22, 1937, in Florence, daughter of the late Waino Leppanen and Joyce (Trudell) Soderberg. Sharon was a graduate of Florence High School, class of 1955.

In 1973 she was united in marriage to August Moriatti. He preceded her in death in 1988. Sharon was a longtime resident of Niagara and worked for Keel Ridge Motel in Iron Mountain for many years.

She enjoyed crocheting, her animals, fishing, gardening, reading, and cooking, especially her pasties. Most of all Sharon loved the time spent with her grandchildren.

She always had a smile on her face, an unmistakable laugh, and would do anything to help others out.

Survivors include one son, Shane (Andrea) Moratti of Niagara, Wis.; two brothers, Jack Lappanen and Bucko Soderberg, both of Florence, Wis.; five sisters, Alene (Joe) Sleeter of Florence, Wis., Bernie Sjoquist of New Holstein, Wis., Brenda Mohr of Florence, Deanna Hughes of Oconto Falls, Wis., and Adrienne (Bill) Hoenne of New Lincoln, Wis.; two grandchildren, Emma and Alexander; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, August, Sharon was preceded in death by one sister, Florence “Cookie” Little.

In accordance with Sharon’s wishes, private family services will be held.
