Phyllis “Snooks” Kanyuh

MOUNTAIN — Phyllis Jean “Snooks” Kanyuh passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020.

She was born on Nov. 24, 1940, and raised in Salt Lick, Ky., but lived her life between the Chicago area and Iron Mountain.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Bob Kanyuh; daughters, Tammy (Jimmy) Ayotte of Belleair Bluffs, Fla. and Tonya Kanyuh (fiancé Gregg) of Port Washington, Wis.; grandsons, Colt, Clinton, and Cooper Collins of Iron Mountain; great-granddaughter, Cali Sue Collins of Iron Mountain; sister, Betty Click of Morehead, Ky.; and special niece, Lisa (Sam) Trebilcock of Iron Mountain.

She truly loved all of her nieces, nephews, extended family, and loved ones, along with her “Old Kentucky Home” family and friends, where she will be laid to rest at a later date.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Myrtle Click, and her infant brothers, Jackie and Tommy, of Salt Lick.

Snooks was a beautiful, generous, sharp witted, southern belle, known as the “Classy Lassy” to her husband of 61 years, Bob. Aside from her family, she enjoyed quilting and gardening. She will be sadly missed and leaves a hole in the hearts of all of us that loved her.

There will be a Celebration of Life at a future date.
