CRYSTAL FALLS — Russell Ole Oss, 88 of Crystal Falls, passed away Friday, Dec. 11, 2020, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility, non COVID- related.
He was born on July 30, 1932, to Helia and Harry Oss. Russell was a 1952 graduate of Crystal Falls High School. He married Doris Tamminen on July 24, 1954, at United Lutheran Church of Crystal Falls.
He worked for the Hanna mining company and received a 20-year certificate in May of 1976 and continued working for the Hanna mining company until it closed in 1983. Russell then worked for Magicglide until his retirement in 1995.
In Russell’s spare time, he worked on farm equipment for Malkins and Sons. Russell always loved working in the garage and fixing things for others.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Doris (Tamminen) Oss of Crystal Falls: his children, Julie Alm of Iron Mountain and his son, Brian (Veronica) Oss of Indiana; also survived by three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.
Russell was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Paquet and one granddaughter, Ashley Alm.
