Dorothy Miller

Dorothy was born April 29, 1941, in Randville, daughter of the late Cloyd and Annie (Presley) Sexton. She was married to Gerald Rose and they had six children. Dorothy was a member of Maranatha Assembly of God in Kingsford. She married Raymond Miller and he preceded her in death in 2010.

Dorothy enjoyed birds, camping, hunting and fishing with her siblings, sewing and crocheting, doing puzzles, and cooking Sunday meals. More than anything, she enjoyed spending time with family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her six children, Tina Rose of Niagara, Tammie (Mark) Lanthier of Niagara, Jerry Rose of Kingsford, Kevin (Annette) Rose of Kingsford, Annell Rose of Kingsford, and Richard (Terri) Rose of Athelstane; two brothers, Earl (Bonnie) Sexton and Roy (Connie) Sexton; a sister, Sylvia Pieche; two sisters-in-law, Marlene Towns and Judy Sexton; 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two grandsons, Calvin and Jacob Rose; a daughter-in-law, Jody Rose; six brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Maranatha Assembly of God in Kingsford. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church. Pastor David Wilton will officiate.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff at Dickinson County Healthcare System and the ICU staff at UP Health Systems – Marquette, with a special thank you to her nurse Lindsey, you were our mother’s angel while she was in your care.
