LORI PICARD

GREEN BAY, Wis. — Lori Lynn Picard, formerly of Escanaba, passed away at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay, Wis., on Thursday, January 21, 2021, after a lengthy illness and brave battle for her life. Lori was a graduate of Escanaba Area Public High School, Class of 1981 — GO ESKYMOS!!

Lori is survived by her daughter, Megan Katherine Picard, and her two beautiful granddaughters, J’veiona and Jewel’iona Picard. Lori’s girls were the light of her life and she gave all that she had for their comfort.

Lori was born in Escanaba, on July 20, 1962, to Dianne and John Picard Jr. She is survived by her mother, Dianne Minor; father, John “Jack” Picard Jr.; and step-mother, Joyce Picard. Lori is survived by her older brother, Donald, and his wife, Amy, their sons, Adam John (Jen Garlow) and Nicholas Allen (Trina Picard). Lori is survived by her loving sister, Debra Picard Couper and her husband, Jeffrey Couper. Debbie was born on Lori’s first birthday, July 20, 1963. They were very proud of that special connection. Lori was also very proud of her great nephews, Liam, Jacob, and John Paul Picard, and her great-niece, Harper Picard.

In addition to her parents, brother, and sister, Lori is survived by her step-sister, Belinda Eagle, stepbrothers, Terry and Brent Papineau and their families, which she shared special relationships with. She is also survived by her aunts and uncles, Donna and Wennell Tourangeau, Mary Lou and Harlan LaPalm, and Mrs. Barbara Picard, Mrs. Laverne Picard, and their children.

She is preceded in death by two step-brothers, Tim and Kim Papineau; cousins, Patty Picard and Lisa Pierce; and five uncles, Jerry Picard, Leo Picard, Joseph Picard, Edward Pierce, and Royce Burke. She is also preceded by her aunt, Judy Burke, and grandparents, Clarence and Blanche Hubert and John and Marie Picard.

Lori lived in Green Bay for 24 years. She worked for the Don Hutson Center, Bay Towel, and the Corner Coin Laundry for many years. She was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and cherished watching their games with her family — GO PACK GO!!

Lori was well liked by everyone who met her and had a way of “drawing crowds” toward her. One might say that she had a presence that was “larger than life.” She shared a special friendship with Brenda Bizeau Clark and her husband, Mike.

No services will be held at this time, but two Celebrations of Life will occur in spring or summer, one in Green Bay, and one in Escanaba. Lori would have appreciated the world remembering her “big personality” and showing care and concern for her daughter, Megan, and granddaughters — J’veiona and Jewel’iona Picard — ages 11 and 5 years. In saying goodbye, Lori would have shared these words: “A gathering of Angels appeared above my head, They sang to me this song of hope and this is what they said, they said, Come sail away, Come sail away, Come sail away with me….” Remember her with these words.
