IRON MOUNTAIN — Richard L. Bartlett, 90, of Randville, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021, at Bellin Hospital, Green Bay, Wis.

He was born Feb. 23, 1930, in Sagola, son of the late Frank and Ida (Kirkendahle) Bartlett. Richard grew up in Sagola and had worked for the Ford Motor Company in Chicago for two years before returning to Sagola to work in the woods.

He worked for the Cheese Factory in Shawano, Wis. and then at a machine shop in Milwaukee before working 35 years at Ladish Drop Forge Company in Cudahy, Wis. retiring in 1985. Following his retirement, he moved to Randville where he built his log cabin from the ground up by himself.

Richard enjoyed hunting, especially moose, fishing, camping, his trips to Canada, and was a member of the Sagola Sportsman’s Club.

Survivors include his son, Scott (Debbie) Bartlett of Cudahy; two daughters, Darlene Nowakowski of Racine, Wis., and Tammy Scharlat of Pewaukee, Wis.; grandchildren, Freddy, Cori, Jamie, Joshua, Jeanine, Jennifer, Andrea, Jimmy and Ronny; several great-grandchildren; and many friends and loved ones. Richard enjoyed the last several years of his life with Joyce Reinert, caring for each other.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathy; three brothers, Gerald, Willard and Clifford Bartlett; and four sisters, Buella Norton, Vivian Johnson, Mildred Rader and Eva Peterson.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Feb. 6, from noon until 2 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Prayers will be recited Saturday at 2 p.m., at the funeral home.
