Barbara Peterson

She was born on Nov. 7, 1944. in Alpena, the daughter of the late Albert and Mildred (Standen) Udell.

Barb graduated from Alpena High School in 1963 and continued her education, graduating from Northern Michigan University in 1967 as a teacher.

Because of the love she had for children, Barb was an elementary school teacher and retired in 2000.

She spent her years of retirement enjoying her grandchildren and friends. She also enjoyed traveling and going to the casinos.

Barb is survived by her husband of 53 years, Curtis; children, Paula (Clark) Wagner and Curtis Peterson Jr.; grandchildren, Thomas Wagner, Alyssa Wagner and Jack Peterson; sisters, Audrey (Duane) Himes, Bev (Wally Szczerowski) Udell, Kathy (Ben) Szczerowski and Candy Hoehrein; brother, Terry Udell; sister-in-law, Janis Udell; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Wes Udell; and brother-in-law, Bill Hoehrein.

A private family graveside service will be held in Watersmeet Township Cemetery in the spring.
