KINGSFORD — John William Burgelbaugh, 75, of Kingsford, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee.

John was born in Philadelphia, son of the late John and Mary Burgelbaugh. He transferred to the Quinnesec Paper Mill where he has been retired for 20 years.

He loved to golf, play smear, and enjoyed traveling to Florida for the winters.

John knew so many and was such an important part of so many lives. He loved telling his jokes and would do anything for anyone.

He will be remembered as a fighter, a man of courage, love and who truly loved his family, friends and his wife dearly.

He is survived by his wife and best friend, Terri; two sons, Tommy (Wendy) Burgelbaugh of Pennsylvania and Nick (April) Harwath of Felch; three daughters, Courtney (Joel) Burgelbaugh of Kingsford, Lindsey (Brad) Cowling of Kingsford and Rhonda (John) Gura of Alabama; 13 loving grandchildren, James Burgelbaugh; Jessica and Jason Harwath; Lean and Aubrey Burgelbaugh; Lanie Trewartha; Stephen Box, Adyson and Michael Weber; Jessica (Brian) Huhtala; Jake Durant; John III (Emily) and Shawn Burgelbaugh; three great-grandchildren, Henry and Adam Huhtala, and Benjamin Burgelbaugh; sister-in-law, Cheri (Doug) Richer of Iron Mountain; two brothers-in-law, Bob (Carol) Johnson of Kingsford and Mike (MaryJo) Johnson of Green Bay, Wis.; a very special friend, Bill Bron; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by Connie Burgelbaugh; son, John Burgelbaugh Jr.; and sister, Carolanne Alessandroni (Burgelbaugh).

A celebration of life will be held by the family.
