GREEN BAY, Wis. — Thomas A. Loomis, 57, of Kingsford passed away Monday, April 5, 2021, at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay, Wis.

Tom was born Feb. 13, 1964, in Iron Mountain, the son of the late James and Lynn (Johnson) Loomis. He graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1982 and served in the United States Marine Corp. from 1984-1989. On June 6, 2009, he married Wendy (Sleik) Lobner.

Tom was an over the road truck driver for almost 30 years. His health problems caused him to retire in 2019. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially hunting at Ragnarok. He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Freedom for Patriots, and a past member of the Northland Beagle Club for many years.

Tom’s wife and grandchildren were the highlight of his life.

Survivors include his loving wife of 12 years, Wendy; daughters, Kristy (Jason) Ewing, Sierra Fisher (Dodge Long), Brittany (Jacob) Moreau; son, T.J. Loomis; stepdaughters, Melissa Wilson (Steve Solberg) and Sydney Lobner (Becky Wolverton); stepson, Jacob Lobner; special son, Eddie Davis (Connie Barnes) and family; special daughters, Sarah Recla (Andy Jacobs) and Heather Burcar (Mike Fankhauser) and their son, Noah; grandchildren, Gavin Fisher, Chloe and Brantley Loomis, Maverick and Layni Ewing, Aubrey Moreau, Kaelyn and Jace Wilson, Jaxon Neumann, and Dylaney and Wayne Gmeiner.

Tom is also survived by his father-in-law, Gary (Sharon) Sleik; mother-in-law, Judy (Richard) Stanek; brothers-in-law, Mark Sleik (Amy Carpenter), and David Sleik (Sandy Fontecchio); sister-in-law, Sherry (Brooke) Huettl; nieces, Vanessa (Jeff) Mitchell and family, Erica (Tim) Coda and Amanda Sleik (Christopher Paulino) and family; nephews, Dustin Sleik and Tony (Shannon) Sleik and their daughter, Malia; step-mother, Char Loomis and family; aunt, Sharon Londree; uncle, Dan Barber; numerous cousins; and special friends, Chuck (Michelle) Lantz, Jeff (Michelle) Hellgison, and Jim Krause (Amy Colella).

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by a step-son, Matthew Neumann; an aunt, Donna Barber; and an uncle, Louis Londree.

Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 10, at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. The Uren-Cooper-Johnson American Legion Post 50 will conduct military honors at 4 p.m. at the funeral home with funeral services to immediately follow. Rev. Matt Reusch will officiate.
