William R. Johnson

Bill was born June 9, 1933, in Norway, son of the late Reynold and Edna (Eckstrom) Johnson. He graduated from Norway High School in 1951 and was a lifelong resident of the area.

Bill married Sandra Christensen on May 22, 1959, in Norway. He worked for Norway Gravure as a pressman for over 40 years, retiring in 1995. Bill enjoyed gardening, hunting and electronics. He was a very meticulous wood worker. He built his house in 1967 and all the furniture for the rooms. More than anything, he loved being at home with family.

Bill is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sandra; a son, Steve (Debra) Johnson; a daughter, Nancy (Bob) Williams; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Johnson; seven grandchildren, Jessica (Lee) Hyrkas and Stephen, Mark, Lisa, Debra, Robb and Chris Johnson; 16 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a son, Michael; three sisters and one brother.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 22 from 1 until 3 p.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Memorial services will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Lori Liverance will officiate.
