Barbara ‘Sugar’ Cunningham

Barbara was born Nov. 1, 1943, in Kingsford, the daughter of Elwood and Lucille (Kopp-Phillips) Cunningham.

She enjoyed gambling: playing lottery scratch tickets, going to the casino, playing machines at Who’s Next, and playing poker at family gatherings. She was also an avid Elvis fan, who loved to cook, and was witty with a great sense of humor.

Barbara is survived by her son, Larry Frizzell; grandkids, Preston Frizzell and Marissa Tiedje Frizzell; siblings, Sharon “Cookie” Eaton and Carole Schuirmann; special niece and nephew, Tina Bozile and Brian Bozile; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Sandra “Red” Paquette. Besides her son and grandkids, she was especially close with “Cookie” and Tina, and her beloved dog, Lucy, who is waiting for her at the rainbow bridge.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Bruce “Boots” Phillips and Don Phillips; and a step-father, Ivan Phillips.

Private services will be held at a later date.
