CRYSTAL FALLS — James “Jim” Donald Moore 75, of Crystal Falls, died peacefully on Dec. 30, 2021.

Jim was born on Dec. 27, 1946, in Chicago, to James and Ethel Moore. He attended Lane Tech High School in Chicago and continued his education at the University of Illinois, graduating in 1968 with a degree in forestry.

Jim was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing. He was a diehard Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks fan. Jim had a strong and positive influence on the community of Dickinson County by coaching youth hockey, baseball, and soccer. He took up golf and spent some of his best days on the course with his close friends Joe Rahoi and Tom Madden. Jim loved dogs … especially his Golden Irish Setter, Katie.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Chris (Caviani) Moore of Crystal Falls; children, Tom Moore (Jessica), Sarah Paternoster (Mike), Patrick Moore (Sara), Dave Moore (Hiromi); sisters, Shirley Hickman (Jim), Janice Moore and Sandy Malliet (Doug); mother of his children, Mary Tachick.

Jim had 10 wonderful grandkids that he loved and adored, Jack, Halle, Cam, Sam, James, Dalton, Evan, Sully, Alyssa, and Markus.

Celebration of life will be held on Jan. 29 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Encore in Florence, Wis. The family is asking those who plan to attend to wear Chicago Bears, Cubs or Blackhawks colors and to also wear a mask.
