KINGSFORD — Ann S. Goodreau, 93, originally of Escanaba, passed away Sunday, Aug. 7, 2022, at ProMedica Nursing Home in Kingsford, where she was a patient for the last two years.

Ann was born on Feb. 13, 1929, to parents Andrew and Catherine Bakran. She was raised with her 10 brothers and sisters at the family home in Wells, Mich.

In 1955, she married Robert “Bob” Goodreau and they spent 56 years of marriage together living in Escanaba until Bob’s death in 2011.

Ann was a member of St. Joseph and St. Patrick Parish in Escanaba and served as a Eucharist Minister for many years.

Ann and Bob enjoyed travelling together in their retirement years making many trips to visit family and friends in Georgia, Florida and California.

Ann and Bob were members of the Highland Golf Club for over 35 years.

Ann is survived by her sons, Robert (Monica) Goodreau of Kingsford, Steve (Carol) Goodreau of Woodstock, Ga.; grandchildren, Zachary Goodreau of Midlothian, Va., Katy Goodreau of Greenfield, Wis., Edward Goodreau of Kingsford and Erin Goodreau of Atlanta, Ga.; brother, John (Judy) Bakran of Abrams, Wis. and sister-in-law Edith Bakran of Green Bay, Wis. Ann is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Ann was preceded in death by her loving husband; Bob; parents, Andrew and Catherine; brothers, Steve Bakran, Rudy Bakran, Frank Bakran, Joe Bakran and Tom Bakran and sisters, Mary Bakran, Liz Potvin, Patti Servant and Jane Ferrari. Also preceding her in death are sisters-in-law, Lucille DeRouin, Joyce Keane and Lonnie Bakran; and brothers-in-law, Jerry Potvin, Bud Servant, Bill Ferrari, Andy DeRouin and Jack Keane.

The family would like to extend our thanks and gratitude to the staff at ProMedica Nursing Home and Evergreen Assisted Living for taking care of Ann over the past few years.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15, at the Skrasdski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba with a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph and St. Patrick Parish in Escanaba with Fr. Tim Ferguson officiating.

Burial will take place immediately after at the Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells.
